Clown Crew is a Tribute deck. Every Clown Crew monster does something when it’s Tributed, and Biancaviso, the one you Tribute Summon, draws or negates for each monster it Tributes. On your turn you Tribute one monster of each card type and draw up to 8 cards, mostly hand traps; on their turn you Tribute Summon again, the Clown Crew you Tribute send their Synchros or Fusions back to the Extra Deck, and Matinee draws again in their End Phase. Every line here is built on the decklist near the end of this page, under the Forbidden/Limited list that took effect on October 6, 2026.
The crew
Tributed: turn 1 Effect Monster face-down, or shuffle every Ritual Monster into the Deck
Tributed: summon a Clown Crew from your Deck or Extra Deck, or shuffle every Pendulum away
Tributed: Set a Clown Crew Trap, or return every Fusion
Tributed: add a Clown Crew card from your GY, or return every Synchro
Tributed: Set a Clown Crew Spell, or return every Xyz
Tributed: both players shuffle their hands away and redraw, or return every Link
| Monster | How it gets out | Tributed (pick one) | While it’s on the field |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clown Crew Biancaviso (Biancaviso) · Level 7 Illusion | Tribute Summon: 1 Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum or Link Monster, or any 2 monsters | Nothing | When it’s Tribute Summoned: draw, or negate their face-up cards, one for each monster Tributed. In their Main Phase, a Quick Effect lets you Tribute Summon a monster straight away. |
| Clown Crew Flair (Flair) · Ritual, Level 1 | Ritual Summon with Rehearsal from the GY; Malabarisme or Matinee from your Deck | Change 1 Effect Monster to face-down Defense Position, without targeting; or shuffle every Ritual Monster on the field and in the GYs into the Deck | From your hand: reveal it to add a Clown Crew card that isn’t a Ritual Monster, then discard 1 card |
| Clown Crew Cappello (Cappello) · Pendulum, Level 5 | Its Pendulum Effect sends a Clown Crew card (not a Pendulum) from your Deck to the GY, then summons itself | Special Summon a Clown Crew monster that isn’t a Pendulum from your Deck or Extra Deck, ignoring its summoning conditions; or shuffle every Pendulum Monster on the field and face-up in the Extra Decks into the Deck | Their monsters lose 1500 DEF while you control a Tribute Summoned monster |
| Clown Crew Diabolo (Diabolo) · Fusion | Malabarisme, Matinee, Soiree or Cappello | Set a Clown Crew Trap from your Deck; or return every Fusion Monster on the field and in the GYs to the Extra Deck | Your Tribute Summoned monster deals double piercing damage |
| Clown Crew Meteor (Meteor) · Synchro | The same | Add a Clown Crew card other than Meteor from your GY to your hand; or return every Synchro Monster | They can’t activate cards or effects when you Tribute Summon |
| Clown Crew Fiends (Fiends) · Xyz | The same | Set a Clown Crew Spell from your Deck; or return every Xyz Monster | Your Tribute Summoned monsters gain 1000 ATK |
| Clown Crew Dristy (Dristy) · Link-2 | The same | Each player shuffles their hand into the Deck and draws that many; or return every Link Monster | Your Tribute Summoned monsters can attack twice |
| Card | Kind | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Clown Crew Rehearsal (Rehearsal) | Normal Spell | Tribute a monster from your hand or field as the cost: add Biancaviso and a Clown Crew Spell/Trap other than Rehearsal. From the GY: banish it to Ritual Summon Flair from your hand. |
| Clown Crew Malabarisme (Malabarisme) | Quick-Play Spell | Special Summons up to 2 Clown Crew monsters from your Deck and/or Extra Deck, ignoring their summoning conditions. From the GY, in your Main Phase but not the turn it got there: banish it and Tribute a monster to return a card on the field to the hand. |
| Clown Crew Matinee Operatics (Matinee) | Continuous Spell | Main Phase: Special Summons a Clown Crew monster from your Deck or Extra Deck. End Phase: draws a card for each card type Tributed this turn, then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand. |
| Clown Crew Soiree Operations (Soiree) | Normal Trap | Special Summons up to 2 Clown Crew monsters from your Deck and/or Extra Deck, or adds a Clown Crew monster from your Deck. From the GY, in either player’s Main Phase: banish it to Tribute Summon a Clown Crew monster straight away. |
| Clown Crew Finale (Finale) | Normal Trap | While you control a Tribute Summoned monster: discard any number of cards to destroy that many face-up cards. From the GY: banish it and Tribute a Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum or Link Monster to add a Clown Crew monster with a different Level from your Deck or GY. |
| Clown Crew New Face (New Face) | Continuous Trap | In the Standby Phase, shuffles 3 Clown Crew cards from your GY or banishment into the Deck and draws 1. When you Tribute Summon, destroys Spells/Traps up to the number Tributed. If it’s discarded or sent to the GY from anywhere but the field, it places itself face-up. |
| Nerva the Power Patron of Creation (Nerva) | Fusion, not a Clown Crew card | Special Summoned in Defense Position by Tributing 3 monsters with different Types. Here it’s only there for those Tributes. |
| Linkuriboh | Link-1 | Made from 1 Level 1 monster: Flair. From the GY, at Quick speed: Tribute a Level 1 monster to summon itself. That’s how Flair gets Tributed on their turn. |
Rules
Biancaviso
- One Tribute or two. One is enough if it’s a Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum or Link Monster. The game offers the one-Tribute summon first: say no to Tribute two.
- Draw or negate. When it’s Tribute Summoned, pick one: draw cards, or negate their face-up cards, one for each monster Tributed. Each option once per turn, so a second Biancaviso that turn has to take the other.
- On their turn. Its Quick Effect in their Main Phase lets you Tribute Summon a monster straight away: another Biancaviso, or any monster of Level 5 or higher in your hand. Once per turn for each Biancaviso.
- It’s an Illusion, not a Beast-Warrior, and it does nothing when it’s Tributed.
Matinee's draw
- In every End Phase, theirs included, it draws one card for each card type Tributed that turn: Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, Link. Up to 6.
- Every Tribute counts: Rehearsal’s and Finale’s costs, Ritual Summons, Tribute Summons and Nerva’s summon. A Flair Tributed from your hand counts as a Ritual.
- Biancaviso and Main Deck monsters like hand traps add nothing. Link Material isn’t a Tribute.
- Then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand. You only discard down to 6 at the end of your own turn, so the cards it draws on their turn are all yours to keep.
The lock
- Malabarisme, Matinee’s summon, Soiree and Cappello’s Pendulum Effect each lock you until the end of the next turn: monsters Special Summoned from your Deck or Extra Deck can’t activate effects.
- It only covers them on the field. Their effects when Tributed activate in the GY (Cappello’s in the Extra Deck), so every line still works.
- Locked: Linkuriboh’s attack stopper after a Link Summon, Herald of the Arc Light, TY-PHON’s bounce. Not locked: Biancaviso (Tribute Summoned), Flair Ritual Summoned from your hand, Linkuriboh back from the GY, Phara, Fydraulis from your hand.
Once per turn
- Each Clown Crew monster’s effects are once per turn by name, each one separately: a second Meteor that turn can’t add a card, but it can still return Synchros.
- Flair’s search, each of Rehearsal’s, Malabarisme’s, Matinee’s and Finale’s effects, Cappello’s Pendulum Effect.
- Soiree’s two activated effects once each; its GY Tribute Summon has no limit.
- Set this turn, used this turn: Rehearsal and Matinee. Malabarisme (a Quick-Play Spell) and the Traps wait for their turn.
Going first
Which line
- Flair alone: Line 1 (Biancaviso on the field), or Line 2 for 8 cards.
- Flair + a monster you can give up: Line 3.
- Flair + Rehearsal, Malabarisme or a second Flair: Line 4 and Other hands: 8 cards and both Set cards.
- Cappello: Line 5. Rehearsal without Flair or Cappello: Line 6.
- They used Maxx “C” or Fuwalos, and you hold Droll and a monster to give up: Line 8, the hand rip. Every card Maxx “C” drew them goes back to the Deck with the rest of their hand.
- They used Purulia, and you hold Cappello, Flair and Droll: Line 9, the hand rip against Purulia.
- They used Maxx “C” or Fuwalos without Droll in your hand, or you fear Nibiru: Line 7.
- Two lines fit? The Match helper at the top compares them.
Another monster
Rehearsal’s cost is a monster from your hand. Going first, give up Mulcharmy Fuwalos or Purulia first: they only work while you control no cards. Then a spare Cappello, then Nibiru. Keep Ash, Ghost Ogre, Droll, Veiler and Fydraulis for their turn. With Malabarisme in your hand as well, give up Ash before Nibiru: if they Ash Rehearsal, Malabarisme and Nibiru still make a board (the box after Line 6). A spare Biancaviso is better kept: on their turn it saves Soiree’s search. Phara Tributed as a cost doesn’t come back (see Hand traps).
New Face from Flair's search
When you already hold the card Flair would search (Rehearsal, in Lines 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8; the second Malabarisme, in Line 4), add Clown Crew New Face instead and discard New Face itself. It places itself face-up on your field, so the search costs you no card. Face-up, it draws you a card in each Standby Phase and destroys their Spells/Traps, one per Tribute, when you Tribute Summon. The Match helper shows the change on each line.
Zones
Linkuriboh and Dristy are Link Monsters: from the Extra Deck they can only go to the Extra Monster Zone, and only one of your monsters can be there. Put Fiends, Meteor and Diabolo in your main monster zones whenever a Link Monster comes later in the line.
Line 1: Flair alone
Reveal Flair in your hand: add Rehearsal from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair.
Activate Rehearsal, Tributing Flair from your hand: add Biancaviso and Malabarisme from your Deck. Don’t activate Flair’s effect in the GY.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Fiends and Meteor from your Extra Deck.
Tribute Summon Biancaviso, Tributing Fiends and Meteor. Chain their effects: Biancaviso draws 2 (chain link 1), Meteor adds Flair from your GY to your hand (chain link 2), and Fiends Sets Matinee Operatics from your Deck (chain link 3).
Activate the Set Matinee, then its effect: Special Summon Diabolo from your Extra Deck.
Banish Rehearsal from your GY: Ritual Summon Flair from your hand, Tributing Diabolo. Diabolo’s effect Sets Soiree Operations from your Deck.
End your turn. In the End Phase, Matinee draws 4 (a Ritual, a Fusion, a Synchro and an Xyz Monster were Tributed), then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand.
Line 2: Flair alone, for 8 cards
Activate the Set Matinee, then its effect: Special Summon Cappello from your Deck.
Banish Rehearsal from your GY: Ritual Summon Flair from your hand, Tributing Cappello. Cappello’s effect Special Summons Diabolo from your Extra Deck.
Link Summon Linkuriboh using Flair.
Special Summon Nerva the Power Patron of Creation from your Extra Deck in Defense Position by Tributing Biancaviso, Linkuriboh and Diabolo. Diabolo’s effect Sets Soiree Operations from your Deck.
End your turn. In the End Phase, Matinee draws 6 (all six card types were Tributed), then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand.
Line 3: Flair + another monster
Reveal Flair in your hand: add Rehearsal from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair and the monster you’ll Tribute.
Activate Rehearsal, Tributing the other monster from your hand: add Biancaviso and Malabarisme from your Deck.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Fiends and Meteor from your Extra Deck.
Tribute Summon Biancaviso, Tributing Fiends and Meteor. Chain their effects: Biancaviso draws 2 (chain link 1), Meteor adds Malabarisme from your GY to your hand (chain link 2), and Fiends Sets Matinee Operatics from your Deck (chain link 3).
Activate the Set Matinee, then its effect: Special Summon Cappello from your Deck.

Set Malabarisme and end your turn. In the End Phase, Matinee draws 5 (a Fusion, a Synchro, an Xyz, a Pendulum and a Link Monster were Tributed), then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand.
Line 4: Rehearsal + Flair
Reveal Flair in your hand: add a second Malabarisme from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair.
Set Malabarisme and end your turn. In the End Phase, Matinee draws 6 (all six card types were Tributed), then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand.
If they use Droll after Rehearsal's add
Rehearsal added both cards before Droll, so you still have Biancaviso and Malabarisme. Draws are stopped too, so skip Biancaviso’s draw. Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Fiends and Diabolo from your Extra Deck. Tribute Summon Biancaviso by Tributing both: Diabolo Sets Soiree from your Deck, and Fiends Sets your second Malabarisme from your Deck. Sets aren’t adds, so Droll doesn’t stop them. End your turn. On their turn, Soiree adds Biancaviso, Malabarisme summons Meteor and Diabolo, and the first Biancaviso’s Quick Effect Tribute Summons the second by Tributing them. This works the same in Line 6.
Line 5: Cappello alone
Place Cappello in your Pendulum Zone and activate its Pendulum Effect: send Finale from your Deck to the GY, and Special Summon Cappello.
Banish Finale from your GY, Tributing Cappello: add Flair from your Deck.
Cappello’s effect: Special Summon Fiends from your Extra Deck.
Reveal Flair in your hand: add Rehearsal from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair and Rehearsal.
Activate Rehearsal, Tributing Fiends: add Biancaviso and Malabarisme from your Deck. Fiends’s effect Sets Matinee Operatics from your Deck.
Activate the Set Matinee, then its effect: Special Summon Diabolo from your Extra Deck.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Meteor from your Extra Deck and a second Flair from your Deck.
Link Summon Linkuriboh using the Flair from your Deck.
Banish Rehearsal from your GY: Ritual Summon the Flair in your hand, Tributing Meteor. Meteor’s effect adds Malabarisme from your GY to your hand.
Tribute Summon Biancaviso, Tributing Linkuriboh and Diabolo. Chain their effects: Biancaviso draws 2 (chain link 1), and Diabolo Sets Soiree Operations from your Deck (chain link 2).
Set Malabarisme and end your turn. In the End Phase, Matinee draws 5 (a Fusion, a Synchro, an Xyz, a Pendulum and a Link Monster were Tributed), then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand.
Line 6: Rehearsal + another monster
Activate Rehearsal, Tributing the other monster from your hand: add Biancaviso and Malabarisme from your Deck.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Meteor from your Extra Deck and Flair from your Deck.
Link Summon Linkuriboh using Flair.
Tribute Summon Biancaviso, Tributing Meteor and Linkuriboh. Chain their effects: Biancaviso draws 2 (chain link 1), and Meteor adds Flair from your GY to your hand (chain link 2).
Reveal Flair in your hand: add Matinee Operatics from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair and Matinee.
Activate Matinee from your hand, then its effect: Special Summon Diabolo from your Extra Deck.
Banish Rehearsal from your GY: Ritual Summon Flair from your hand, Tributing Diabolo. Diabolo’s effect Sets Soiree Operations from your Deck.
End your turn. In the End Phase, Matinee draws 3 (a Fusion, a Synchro and a Link Monster were Tributed), then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand.
If they Ash Rehearsal
You hold Malabarisme and Nibiru, and they use Ash Blossom on Rehearsal’s add: nothing is added, but your turn isn’t over. Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Fiends and Diabolo from your Extra Deck. Tribute Summon Nibiru, Tributing both (it’s Level 11, so it takes two): Fiends Sets Matinee Operatics and Diabolo Sets Soiree Operations from your Deck. Activate Matinee, then its effect: Special Summon Meteor from your Extra Deck. End your turn: Matinee draws 2 (an Xyz and a Fusion Monster were Tributed). On their turn, Soiree adds Biancaviso, and Soiree’s GY effect Tribute Summons it by Tributing Nibiru and Meteor: it negates 2 of their face-up cards, and Meteor returns their Synchros. That’s why, with Malabarisme in your hand, Ash is the monster to give up to Rehearsal, not Nibiru.
Line 7: Flair alone, four summons
Reveal Flair in your hand: add Rehearsal from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair.
Activate Rehearsal, Tributing Flair from your hand: add Biancaviso and Malabarisme from your Deck. Don’t activate Flair’s effect in the GY.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Fiends and Diabolo from your Extra Deck.
Tribute Summon Biancaviso, Tributing Fiends and Diabolo. Chain their effects: Biancaviso draws 2 (chain link 1), Fiends Sets Matinee Operatics from your Deck (chain link 2), and Diabolo Sets Soiree Operations from your Deck (chain link 3).
Activate the Set Matinee, then its effect: Special Summon Flair from your Deck.
End your turn. In the End Phase, Matinee draws 3 (a Ritual, a Fusion and an Xyz Monster were Tributed), then you can Set a Spell/Trap from your hand.
Line 8: Flair + Droll, after Maxx “C” or Fuwalos
The hand rip
The strongest answer the deck has to Maxx “C”. Every card Maxx “C” or Fuwalos drew them goes back to the Deck with the rest of their hand, and Droll stops anyone drawing for the rest of your turn: they start their turn with one card, their normal draw, against Nerva and a Set Soiree. With Malabarisme and Soiree Set and Droll in your hand, the same trick works on their turn: see the Droll handloop box in Their turn. Against Purulia, play Line 9: Purulia only draws them a card for a summon from your hand, so Nerva’s summon from the Extra Deck gives Droll nothing to answer.
Reveal Flair in your hand: add Rehearsal from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair, Droll and the monster you’ll Tribute.
Activate Rehearsal, Tributing the other monster from your hand: add Biancaviso and Malabarisme from your Deck.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Fiends and Dristy from your Extra Deck.
Tribute Summon Biancaviso, Tributing only Fiends. Chain their effects: Biancaviso draws 1 (chain link 1), and Fiends Sets Matinee Operatics from your Deck (chain link 2).
Link Summon Linkuriboh using Flair.
Set every Spell and Trap from your hand that you want to keep.
Special Summon Nerva the Power Patron of Creation from your Extra Deck in Defense Position by Tributing Biancaviso, Linkuriboh and Dristy. Dristy’s effect activates: each player shuffles their hand into the Deck and draws that many. Chain Droll & Lock Bird from your hand.
End your turn. Matinee can’t draw this End Phase: Droll stops it.
Line 9: Cappello + Flair + Droll, after Purulia
Place Cappello in your Pendulum Zone and activate its Pendulum Effect: send Finale from your Deck to the GY, and Special Summon Cappello.
Reveal Flair in your hand: add Rehearsal from your Deck, then discard a card other than Flair and Droll.
Activate Rehearsal, Tributing Cappello: add Biancaviso and Malabarisme from your Deck.
Cappello’s effect: Special Summon Dristy from your Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Diabolo and Fiends from your Extra Deck to your main monster zones.
Banish Rehearsal from your GY: Ritual Summon Flair from your hand, Tributing Diabolo. Diabolo’s effect Sets Soiree Operations from your Deck.
Set every Spell and Trap from your hand that you want to keep.
Tribute Summon Biancaviso, Tributing Dristy and Fiends. Their effects activate: Dristy (chain link 1), Biancaviso (chain link 2) and Fiends, Setting Matinee Operatics from your Deck (chain link 3). Chain Droll & Lock Bird from your hand (chain link 4).
Activate the Set Matinee, then its effect: Special Summon Meteor from your Extra Deck.
End your turn. Matinee can’t draw this End Phase: Droll stops it.
Their turn
- SoireeAdds Biancaviso from your Deck. If you already hold a Biancaviso, Special Summon two Clown Crew monsters instead.
- MalabarismeSpecial Summons two Clown Crew monsters chosen for their deck (table below).
- FlairTributed by Linkuriboh from your GY, or as one of Biancaviso’s Tributes, it turns one of their monsters face-down without targeting it.
- The Tribute SummonFrom a face-up Biancaviso’s Quick Effect or from Soiree’s GY effect. The new Biancaviso negates their face-up cards, one for each Tribute, and each Clown Crew you Tributed activates its effect, all on one chain.
| Their Extra Deck | Summon with Malabarisme | Tributed, it |
|---|---|---|
| Synchros: Elfnote, Kewl Tune | Meteor | Returns every Synchro on the field and in the GYs to the Extra Deck |
| Fusions: Dracotail, Branded | Diabolo | Returns every Fusion on the field and in the GYs |
| Xyz: DoomZ | Fiends | Returns every Xyz on the field and in the GYs |
| Links | Dristy | Returns every Link on the field and in the GYs |
| Rituals: Mitsurugi | Flair | Shuffles every Ritual Monster on the field and in the GYs into the Deck |
| Pendulums | Cappello | Shuffles every Pendulum on the field and face-up in the Extra Decks into the Deck |
Activate Soiree: add Biancaviso from your Deck.
Activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Flair from your Deck, and Meteor (against Synchro decks) or Diabolo (against Fusion decks) from your Extra Deck.
Linkuriboh’s effect in your GY: Tribute Flair and Special Summon Linkuriboh. Flair’s effect: change one of their Effect Monsters to face-down Defense Position.
Banish Soiree from your GY: Tribute Summon Biancaviso by Tributing Linkuriboh and Meteor (or Diabolo). Biancaviso negates 2 of their face-up cards, and Meteor returns every Synchro on the field and in the GYs to the Extra Deck (Diabolo, every Fusion).
In their End Phase, Matinee draws 3: a Ritual (Flair), a Link (Linkuriboh) and a Synchro (Meteor) were Tributed this turn. With Diabolo instead of Meteor it’s a Fusion, still 3.
From a Biancaviso board
Lines 1, 5, 6, 7 and 9 keep Biancaviso on the field. Its Quick Effect does the Tribute Summon instead of Soiree’s GY effect, and it can Tribute itself: Soiree adds a second Biancaviso, and the first one’s Quick Effect Tribute Summons it, Tributing the first Biancaviso and Flair (Line 1), or two Malabarisme monsters (Line 5). Soiree’s GY effect is then a second Tribute Summon, if you hold another Clown Crew monster.
Keep in mind
- Meteor on the field (not Tributed) stops them responding to a Tribute Summon. It has to still be on the field when you summon.
- Meteor needs your effect first. Its protection only works if your effect starts the chain right after the Tribute Summon. On their turn, if one of their own effects triggers on your summon, theirs comes first and they can respond.
- New Face face-up: each Tribute Summon also destroys their Spells/Traps, up to the number Tributed.
- Their Infinite Impermanence or Effect Veiler on Biancaviso’s Quick Effect negates it, so that Tribute Summon doesn’t happen. Soiree’s GY effect is a Trap’s, so they can’t touch it.
- Their Ghost Ogre on the Quick Effect destroys that Biancaviso, but the effect still resolves: Tribute Summon with the monsters you have left.
- Malabarisme and Soiree each start a new lock, until the end of your next turn.
- Matinee draws in their End Phase too, for the card types you Tributed on their turn. If they destroy or negate Matinee, you lose those cards as well.
Droll handloop on their turn
With Malabarisme and Soiree Set and Droll & Lock Bird in your hand (Lines 3 to 5). In their Draw Phase, activate Malabarisme: Special Summon Dristy and Meteor from your Extra Deck. Activate Soiree: add Biancaviso from your Deck. When they activate an effect that adds a card from their Deck to their hand, chain Soiree’s GY effect: banish it and Tribute Summon Biancaviso by Tributing only Dristy (a Link Monster is enough). Meteor is still on the field, so they can’t respond to the summon. Their card is added; then Dristy’s effect activates (take Biancaviso’s negate, not its draw), and you chain Droll. Droll resolves first, so when Dristy sends both hands back to the Deck, nobody draws. Their hand is empty for the rest of the turn, and so is yours, apart from what you Set.

Pass with a Set card
Biancaviso + Soiree and Malabarisme + Soiree do nothing on your turn: the Set cards are only used on theirs. Play them when you have no other line. You draw no cards, but the Tribute Summon on their turn is the same as Line 4’s.
Going second
- Read their boardWhich card types their monsters are (Synchro, Fusion, Xyz, Link), what negates, and what’s in their GY that could come back.
- Hand traps firstOn their first turn your hand does the work: Fydraulis Harmonia, Nibiru, Dominus Spark, Ash on their searches. On your turn, Crossout Designator on the name that would stop you.
- Start the lineFlair, Cappello or Rehearsal, as going first. Lead with the card you can afford to lose to their first negate.
- Malabarisme for their boardMeteor against Synchros, Diabolo against Fusions, Fiends against Xyz, Dristy against Links.
- Tribute Summon to negateTribute both for Biancaviso and take the negate: 2 of their face-up cards, plus both return effects on the same chain. They can only stop one link.
- Count lethalBiancaviso 2500, +1000 for each Fiends you control. Diabolo doubles piercing damage, Dristy gives a second attack, and Cappello takes 1500 DEF off their monsters.

| Biancaviso’s negate | Their negates are face-up. Tribute Summon it with 2 Tributes. | Each option once per turn: a second Biancaviso that turn has to draw |
| Meteor, Diabolo, Fiends, Dristy Tributed | Their board is mostly one card type | Your own monsters of that type go back too. It doesn’t target or destroy. |
| Flair’s flip | A monster that can’t be targeted, or one that would negate | It can be flipped face-up again on their turn |
| Phara | Banish Rehearsal from your GY and Ritual Summon Flair, Tributing Phara from your hand: Phara summons itself from the GY and takes control of their monster with the highest ATK | Tributed as a cost (Rehearsal’s activation, Malabarisme’s GY effect) it doesn’t come back |
| Malabarisme from the GY | From the turn after it went there: banish it and Tribute a monster to return a card to the hand | Tribute a Clown Crew monster for the cost and its effect activates too |
| Finale | You control a Tribute Summoned monster and Finale is Set: discard cards to destroy that many face-up cards | A Trap Set this turn waits for your next turn |
| Fydraulis Harmonia | Their monster activates an effect | It needs 5 Synchros in your Extra Deck to destroy. Send Malong to return a face-up card to the hand, Herald to add Flair, or Packbit to turn their monster into a Trap. |
| Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis | They Special Summoned 2+ monsters from the Extra Deck this turn or last turn: Xyz Summon it from your highest-ATK monster | Monsters with 3000+ ATK can’t activate effects, but you can’t summon again that turn, and the lock stops its bounce |
| Bystial Baldrake | They Special Summon a Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster | Tribute a LIGHT Clown Crew monster for its cost, and that monster’s effect activates too |
| Dominus Spark | They activated a monster effect in the hand or GY this turn | From your hand it stops your EARTH, WATER, FIRE and WIND monster effects for the rest of the Duel: Ash, Belle, Droll, Maxx “C”, Mulcharmies. Clown Crew, Fydraulis, Phara, Baldrake, Veiler, Ghost Ogre and Nibiru are LIGHT or DARK. |
Hand traps
| Their hand trap | What it stops | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring | Flair’s search, Rehearsal’s add, Malabarisme, Matinee’s summon, Cappello’s send and its summon, Finale’s add, Soiree. Not draws, and not Sets from the Deck. | Phara or Crossout Designator before you start (yours, below). With Cappello and Flair, start with Cappello: Ash on it costs you one card, and Flair is still a whole line. |
| Droll & Lock Bird | Every add from your Deck after the first, and every draw: Biancaviso’s and Matinee’s. Meteor’s add from the GY, Sets from the Deck and Special Summons still work. | With Rehearsal in hand, activate it before Flair’s search: its add brings both cards at once (see the box under Line 4). Flair alone or Cappello alone can’t play through it. |
| Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit | Matinee’s summon effect (a face-up Spell activating): Matinee is destroyed and there’s no End Phase draw. On their turn, it destroys the Biancaviso whose Quick Effect you activate, but the Tribute Summon still happens. | Expect it on Matinee. On their turn, Tribute the monsters you have left, or use Soiree’s GY effect: Ogre can’t touch a card in the GY. |
| Maxx “C”, Mulcharmy Fuwalos | Each Special Summon draws them a card (Fuwalos only counts your Deck and Extra Deck). | Ash their Maxx “C”. If it resolves and you hold Droll, Flair and a monster to give up, play Line 8, the hand rip: their whole hand goes back to the Deck, every card it drew them included. Otherwise play Line 7. Summon counts are below. |
| Mulcharmy Purulia | Each Normal or Special Summon from your hand draws them a card: Flair’s Ritual Summon and Biancaviso’s Tribute Summon. | With Cappello, Flair and Droll, play Line 9, the hand rip. Otherwise the line goes on: it draws them 1 or 2 cards (see the table below). |
| Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermanence | Biancaviso’s draw or negate when it’s Tribute Summoned. On their turn, Imperm on Biancaviso’s Quick Effect. | Your other Clown Crew effects activate in the GY or the Extra Deck, where neither reaches. |
| Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion | Meteor’s add from the GY, Linkuriboh’s return, Finale’s add | Lines 1 to 6 use Meteor’s add. Lines 7 and 8 don’t. |
| Dominus Impulse, Dominus Purge | Impulse: Malabarisme, Matinee’s summon, Soiree, Cappello. Purge: your adds. | Same as Ash. |
| Bystial Magnamhut (and the other Bystials) | Banishes a LIGHT or DARK monster from your GY: Flair before Meteor adds it back, or Linkuriboh before their turn | Flair is LIGHT and Linkuriboh DARK. |
| Crossout Designator | One name for the turn: usually Malabarisme or Rehearsal | Have a second start. |
| Nibiru, the Primal Being | Your fifth summon in their count | It Tributes your monsters, so their Clown Crew effects activate. See the table below; Line 7 never reaches five. |
| Line | Summons | Special Summons (Maxx “C” draws) | From Deck or Extra Deck (Fuwalos draws) | From your hand (Purulia draws) | Fifth summon (Nibiru) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Line 1 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | Flair’s Ritual Summon |
| Lines 2, 3 and 4 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 2 | Flair’s Ritual Summon |
| Line 5 | 8 | 7 | 5 | 2 | Malabarisme’s Meteor and Flair |
| Line 6 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 2 | Diabolo from Matinee |
| Line 7 | 4 | 3 | 3 | 1 | — |
| Line 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 2 | Flair’s Ritual Summon |
| Line 9 | 7 | 6 | 4 | 2 | Flair’s Ritual Summon |
Your hand traps
- Going first, keep Ash, Ghost Ogre, Veiler, Droll, Ghost Belle, Nibiru, Fydraulis and Baldrake for their turn. Fuwalos and Purulia are dead once you control a card: discard them to Flair or Tribute them to Rehearsal. Maxx “C” still works on their turn.
- Matinee draws a lot. At the end of your turn you keep 6. Keep different names: their Crossout can only stop one.
- Fydraulis Harmonia on their turn: when their monster activates an effect, reveal it with 5 Synchros, summon it, send a Synchro to the GY and destroy a monster. Your Extra Deck has 7 Synchros, so with two Meteors used you still have 5. Send Malong to return a face-up card to the hand, or Herald to add Flair for your next turn.
- Dominus Spark from your hand turns off your EARTH, WATER, FIRE and WIND hand traps for the rest of the Duel. Set it when you can.
Getting past Ash
- Phara the Primordial Goddess: reveal it with a Spell/Trap in your hand, and until the end of their turn nobody can respond to cards with that name. Reveal it with Malabarisme once Rehearsal has added it: that covers this turn’s Malabarisme and the one you Set for their turn. With no Rehearsal yet, reveal it with Rehearsal instead.
- Crossout Designator before your first play, naming Ash Blossom: you run 3, so one is in your Deck, and their Ash is negated for the turn. Name Droll or Maxx “C” instead when that’s the one you fear, as long as a copy is still in your Deck.
- Lead with what you can lose: Cappello before Flair, Flair’s search before Rehearsal when you hold both and don’t fear Droll.
Matchups
| Deck | What to fear | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Elfnote (and the Elfnote engine) | On your turn, with Regina and another Elfnote card they summon Lucina, Tinia and Fortuna: Lucina returns one of your Level 6 or lower monsters to the hand (Biancaviso is Level 7 and Nerva Level 10), Tinia banishes a random card from your hand, and Fortuna returns Matinee to your hand, which loses you the End Phase draw. Baronne de Fleur negates once; Fydraulis Harmonia (82% of lists) destroys a monster when yours activates on the field. Their hand traps: Ash 100%, Maxx “C” 99%, Fuwalos 97%, Ghost Ogre 76%, Veiler 65%, Droll 64%. | Meteor is your answer: Tributed, it returns every Synchro on the field and in the GYs to the Extra Deck, Baronne and June Pride included. On their turn, have Malabarisme summon Meteor and Tribute it for Biancaviso once their Synchros are out; Biancaviso’s negate is on the same chain, so Baronne can only stop one. On your turn, Ash on Regina’s summon from their Deck, or Ghost Ogre on Elfnote Power Patron, stops the Lucina, Tinia and Fortuna play. |
| Kewl Tune (and the Kewl Tune engine) | Kewl Tune Loudness War: their other Tuners can’t be targeted or destroyed. Kewl Tune B2B: whenever you activate a monster effect, it brings back a Tuner and Synchro Summons, twice a turn, and every Clown Crew Tribute effect is a monster effect. Kewl Tune RS negates a face-up card, such as Matinee. Their hand traps: Ash, Ghost Belle, Veiler, Fydraulis and Maxx “C” in every list, Ghost Ogre 89%. | Meteor doesn’t target or destroy, so it gets past Loudness War and takes B2B and Loudness War back with the rest. A Synchro that B2B makes in response is on the field when Meteor resolves, so it goes too. Biancaviso’s negate and Flair’s flip don’t target either. Ghost Belle stops Meteor’s add and Linkuriboh’s return: count on fewer GY plays. |
| Dracotail | Arthalion and Gulamel come back from their GY whenever 2 or more monsters go to a GY at once, and every two-Tribute Biancaviso and every Nerva sends 2 or 3. Faimena fuses from their hand on your turn; Horn returns an Attack Position monster (Biancaviso); Albaz fuses with your monsters: Rindbrumm with a Beast-Warrior (every Clown Crew but Biancaviso), Albion with a LIGHT. Their hand traps: Ash, Fuwalos, Maxx “C” in every list, Droll 82%, Veiler 65%, Magnamhut 55%. | Diabolo: Tributed, it returns every Fusion on the field and in the GYs to the Extra Deck, so Arthalion and Gulamel can’t come back. Make Diabolo one of the two whenever you Tribute 2 at once. Secreterion Dragon doesn’t stop you: Clown Crew are Beast-Warriors and an Illusion. Nerva sits in Defense Position, out of Horn’s reach. |
| Branded | Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon: if your card makes it leave the field, all your monsters are destroyed in the End Phase. Rindbrumm negates a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster’s effect once a turn, Clown Crew Tribute effects in the GY included. Super Polymerization (98% of lists) fuses your monsters away, and nothing can respond. Their hand traps: Fuwalos and Maxx “C” 98%, Ash 91%, Magnamhut 81%, Droll 70%, Forbidden Droplet 47%. | Diabolo returns every Fusion on the field and in the GYs: Mirrorjade goes back to the Extra Deck, which doesn’t set off its wipe, and the Albion in their GY goes too, so no F&V in their End Phase. Put Diabolo on the same chain as Biancaviso’s negate and a second Tribute, so Rindbrumm can only stop one. Keep fewer monsters on the field into Super Polymerization. |
| DoomZ | Almost every DoomZ card does something when it’s destroyed, so destroying feeds them. DoomZ Destruction stops you adding from the Main Deck while it’s equipped (draws still work). DoomZ XII End - Drastrius can’t be targeted and negates a monster effect you activate on the field or in the GY. Varudras and Therion “King” Regulus negate. Their hand traps: Fuwalos and Maxx “C” in every list, Ash 94%, Ghost Ogre 66%, Purulia 62%. | Fiends: Tributed, it returns every Xyz on the field and in the GYs to the Extra Deck: Drastrius, Graflareio, Jupiter, Varudras and Sargas, without destroying anything. Biancaviso’s negate and Flair’s flip don’t destroy either. Under DoomZ Destruction, Meteor’s add from the GY, Sets from the Deck and Matinee’s draws still work. |

Why these ratios
- No Preparation of Rites. Most Clown Crew lists run it as extra copies of Flair (77% of the 22 on Master Duel Meta). This one doesn’t: a Preparation start is an add from the Deck before anything else, so Droll stops it cold. It plays more engine cards instead, and draws its hand traps.
- Hand traps over board breakers like F&V: 18 of them, to interact on every turn.
- Phara keeps them from answering Malabarisme or Rehearsal, and steals a monster going second.
- Seven Synchros (3 Meteor, 2 Malong, Herald, Packbit) so Fydraulis Harmonia can reveal 5 and destroy.
- 3 Biancaviso: one to summon, one for Soiree to add on their turn, one to draw.
- 1 each of Matinee, Soiree, Finale and New Face: Fiends, Diabolo and Cappello fetch them. A drawn one still works: activate Matinee from your hand and have Fiends Set Malabarisme instead; Set Soiree yourself and have Diabolo Set Finale or New Face.
Flex options
Other cards in the 22 Clown Crew lists on Master Duel Meta (October 21, 2026):
- Preparation of Rites (77%): adds Flair.
- Wind Pegasus @Ignister (77%): another Synchro for Fydraulis to reveal.
- Bystial Magnamhut (50%) and Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill (45%).
- The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode (23%): Biancaviso’s Quick Effect can Tribute Summon it on their turn by Tributing 3 of their monsters.
- Dominus Purge (23%): stops an add from their Deck. From your hand it turns off your DARK, WATER and FIRE monster effects for the rest of the Duel, Fydraulis, Phara and Ash included.
Easy to forget
- Say no to the one-Tribute summon when you want Biancaviso to draw or negate 2.
- Don’t activate Flair’s effect when Rehearsal Tributes it on your turn: keep the flip for theirs.
- Matinee counts card types, not monsters. Two Synchros count once; Biancaviso and Link Material don’t count.
- Matinee can be activated the turn it’s Set; Malabarisme and Soiree can’t.
- Matinee draws in every End Phase, theirs too: Tribute different card types on their turn for more cards.
- Malabarisme’s GY effect only works from the turn after it went to the GY, in your Main Phase.
- Soiree’s GY effect works in either player’s Main Phase, even the turn Soiree was activated.
- Finale must be in your Deck for Cappello’s line.
- Discard New Face to Flair’s search: it places itself face-up.
- The lock (Malabarisme, Matinee’s summon, Soiree and Cappello’s Pendulum Effect): monsters you Special Summon from your Deck or Extra Deck can’t use their effects on the field. It lasts until the end of the next turn, and each new one starts it again. Their effects when Tributed still work.
- Meteor protects a Tribute Summon only while it’s on the field.
- Nerva is summoned in Defense Position. It can’t attack the turn it’s summoned.
- The 6-card hand limit is only for your own turn: in your End Phase, Set a Spell/Trap with Matinee’s effect to keep a seventh card. On their turn your hand has no limit, unless you used a Mulcharmy that turn: in that End Phase it shuffles your hand down to the number of cards they control +6.
