Railway is a blind-second deck: let them go first, break their board, then make two Level 10 Machines into Gustav Max, burn for 2000, put Juggernaut Liebe on top and attack for 6000. Most games end on your first turn. The deck is board breakers, hand traps for their turn, and an engine that turns one card into 8000 damage. The switch under the title picks the full list (Master I and Rating Duels, October 2026) or the budget list (about 12 URs); every line here is built on the decklists near the end of this page, under the Forbidden/Limited list that took effect on October 6, 2026.
The trains
| Card | What it does in a line |
|---|---|
| Scrap Recycler (Recycler) · Level 3 EARTH Machine, 900 ATK | Every time it’s summoned, sends a Machine from your Deck to the GY: usually Blue Traveler, then Babeldecker or Derricrane. Its 900 ATK makes it Clockwork Knight material. |
| Night Train Blue Traveler (Blue Traveler) · Level 10 EARTH Machine | Discard it to add Revolving Switchyard. Once per Duel, from the GY: target another EARTH Machine there and summon both. After that, only Machines from your Extra Deck for the rest of the turn. |
| Heavy Armored Knight Babeldecker (Babeldecker) · Level 10 EARTH Machine, 500 ATK | Normal Summons without Tributes. When summoned, brings out an EARTH Machine from your hand. If they’ve activated a card or effect this turn, it becomes a Rank 10 EARTH Machine Xyz by itself (Gustav Max, Flying Launcher or Gustav Rocket). |
| Heavy Freight Train Derricrane (Derricrane) · Level 10 EARTH Machine | Summons itself from your hand (half ATK) when an EARTH Machine arrives on your field. When it’s detached to activate an Xyz’s effect, destroys one of their cards. |
| Carnot the Eternal Machine (Carnot) · Level 10 LIGHT Machine | Summons itself from your hand or GY once they’ve activated a monster effect in the hand or GY this Duel. Goes back to your Deck if it’s detached. |
| Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max (Gustav Max) · Rank 10 | Two Level 10 monsters. Detach a material: 2000 damage, once per turn. |
| Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe (Liebe) · Rank 11 | Xyz Summoned on top of a Rank 10 Machine Xyz you control, taking its materials. Detach one: 6000 ATK, and only Liebe attacks. It can attack monsters as many times as its materials +1. |
| Clockwork Knight · Link-1 | Made from one Machine with 1000 or less ATK (Recycler). Revives a Machine with 1000 or less ATK from your GY (Recycler, Babeldecker) by Tributing another Machine. |
| Full list only | What it does |
|---|---|
| Jizukiru, the Star Destroying Kaiju (Jizukiru) · Level 10 LIGHT Machine | Summons itself to their field by Tributing one of their monsters; while they have a Kaiju, a second one summons itself to your field. Not EARTH: Blue Traveler can’t revive it. |
| Subspace Battle · Normal Spell | Three contests: each player reveals a monster from the Deck, the higher ATK goes to its owner’s hand, the lower is destroyed and its owner takes 500. You reveal Jizukiru, Jizukiru, then Carnot. |
| Triple Tactics Thrust · Normal Spell | After they activate a monster effect this turn, adds Exceptional Schedule (or a breaker) while they control a monster. |
| Pot of Sloth · Normal Spell | Draws one card per card they control, then puts all but one back. |
| Budget list only | What it does |
|---|---|
| Super Express Bullet Train (Bullet Train) · Level 10 EARTH Machine | Summons itself from your hand while every monster you control is an EARTH Machine. It can only attack by sending 2 of your other cards to the GY. In the End Phase of the turn it went to the GY, adds a Machine from your GY to your hand. |
| Ruffian Railcar · Level 4 EARTH Machine | 500 damage, but no Battle Phase that turn: never on an OTK turn. In the End Phase of the turn it went to the GY, adds a Level 10 EARTH Machine from your Deck. |
| Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede (Pegasus) · Level 4 EARTH Machine | When summoned, revives an EARTH Machine from your GY in Defense Position, negated. Can make its Level match another monster’s, but then only Xyz Monsters attack that turn. |
| Ancient Gear Box · Level 4 EARTH Machine | When it’s added to your hand from the Deck or GY (not drawn), adds an EARTH Machine with 500 ATK or DEF: Babeldecker. Ancient Gear Ballista’s Link Summon adds it. |
| Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf · Rank 4 | Two Level 4 Machines. Detach: one of your Machines can attack directly this turn, and the others can’t attack. |
| Card | Kind | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Exceptional Schedule | Normal Spell | Adds Urgent Schedule, and can give them a Diagram Token (Level 10, 3000 ATK) so Urgent Schedule works on an empty board. From the GY: send a card you control to revive a Level 10 Machine. |
| Urgent Schedule | Quick-Play Spell | While they control more monsters than you: summons Recycler and Blue Traveler from your Deck in Defense Position, negated. Only Machines attack that turn. |
| Revolving Switchyard | Field Spell | Send a card from your hand to add Babeldecker. Its other effect stops your battle damage: never on an OTK turn. |
Rules
Blue Traveler
- Its revival is once per Duel. Most lines spend it, so the next turn you have no second one.
- The lock: after it, only Machines from your Extra Deck that turn. Gustav Max, Liebe, Flying Launcher, Skypalace, Clockwork Knight, Ballista and Anger Knuckle are Machines. Underclock Taker, Pentestag, Varudras, S:P Little Knight and the Numbers aren’t: summon them before the revival, or not at all.
- It revives an EARTH Machine: Recycler, Babeldecker, Derricrane, Bullet Train or another Blue Traveler. Not Jizukiru or Carnot (LIGHT).
Liebe's attacks
- After its boost, only Liebe can attack that turn.
- It can attack monsters as many times as its materials +1. Every line here leaves it one material after its boost, so two attacks on monsters. Line 4 and the Switchyard + any card hand leave none (their Gustav Max comes from Babeldecker alone, with one material), so one.
- Once it has attacked a monster, it can’t attack directly. With no monsters on their side, it attacks directly once.
- So every line here wants their field empty of monsters before the Battle Phase: break it first, or let Derricrane or Skypalace destroy the last one. Otherwise see The finish.
Conditions
- Urgent Schedule: they control more monsters than you. With Exceptional Schedule, give them the Token if they have none.
- Babeldecker’s Xyz effect: in your Main Phase, after they’ve activated any card or effect this turn: a hand trap, a Quick Effect on their board, a chain to your breaker.
- Triple Tactics Thrust (full list): after they’ve activated a monster effect this turn. It only adds while they control a monster; otherwise it Sets, and you can’t use the Set card this turn.
- Lightning Storm: you control no face-up cards. Play it before anything else, Switchyard included.
Once per turn
- Recycler’s send has no limit: every summon sends again.
- Once per turn: Blue Traveler’s discard, Babeldecker’s two effects, Derricrane’s own summon, Bullet Train’s, Clockwork Knight’s revival, Exceptional Schedule’s two effects, Urgent Schedule’s, Switchyard’s, Gustav Max’s burn, Liebe’s summon on a Rank 10 and its boost.
- Derricrane’s destroy has no limit: every time it’s detached for an Xyz’s effect.
- Illusion Gate (full list) is once per Duel.
Breaking the board
- On their turnYour hand traps go first: Maxx “C”, Fuwalos or Purulia when they start summoning (you control no cards, so the Mulcharmies work), Droll after their first search.
- Count what you needRecycler and Babeldecker lines want no monsters on their side. Exceptional and Urgent Schedule lines want exactly one (Exceptional Schedule makes a Token if they have none). Derricrane and Skypalace destroy one card on the way.
- Lightning Storm firstIt needs you to control no face-up cards: before Switchyard, before any monster. Monsters (Attack Position only) or Spells/Traps.
- Pot of SlothDraw one card per card they control, then put back all but one. Play it while their board is still full: before the breakers that thin it.
- Break, then comboHarpie’s Feather Duster, Heavy Storm, Illusion Gate, Jizukiru, Forbidden Droplet and Forbidden Crown, then the line. Keep one breaker for the negate that’s left.
↺ Order of operations.
- On their turnAsh on their first search. Infinite Impermanence from your hand (you control no cards) on the monster that would negate you, or Set it for later.
- Count what you needRecycler and Babeldecker lines want no monsters on their side. Exceptional and Urgent Schedule lines want exactly one (Exceptional Schedule makes a Token if they have none). Derricrane and Skypalace destroy one card on the way.
- Raigeki or Lightning Storm firstRaigeki destroys every monster they control. Lightning Storm needs you to control no face-up cards: before Switchyard, before any monster.
- Pick off the restMystical Space Typhoon on a Set card, Forbidden Chalice or Forbidden Droplet on a negate, Book of Moon on a monster you can’t destroy. Then the line.
↺ Order of operations.
Which breaker
| Card | Use it on | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| Pot of Sloth | Their full board: with 5 cards on their side you draw 5, then put 4 cards from your hand on the bottom of your Deck. You keep the best | Once per turn. Ash can negate it (a draw counts as adding a card from the Deck), and after their Droll you can’t draw with it |
| Lightning Storm | Every Attack Position monster, or every Spell/Trap | You must control no face-up cards. Defense Position monsters survive |
| Harpie’s Feather Duster | Every Spell/Trap they control | Limited to 1 |
| Heavy Storm | Every Spell/Trap on the field, yours too | Play it before you Set or activate your own (Switchyard). Limited to 1 |
| Illusion Gate | Every monster they control, then summon one from their GY to yours | Costs half your LP. Once per Duel. Ghost Belle stops the summon from their GY |
| Forbidden Droplet | Their face-up Effect Monsters: halve their ATK and negate them this turn, one per card you send | They can’t respond with the card types you sent (send a Spell: no Spell responses). Chain it to a card you already played, so the cards it sends cost you nothing extra |
| Forbidden Crown | One monster that would stop you: negated, can’t be destroyed, unaffected by other effects | It can’t be destroyed by battle either, so Liebe hits it twice: see The finish. It also keeps them at one monster for Urgent Schedule |
| Jizukiru | Summon it to their field by Tributing their best monster: Tributing gets past “can’t be destroyed” and “can’t be targeted” | Jizukiru (3300 ATK) is then their monster. Leave it for Urgent Schedule and let Derricrane destroy it, or summon your second Jizukiru next to yours |
| Subspace Battle | Reveal Jizukiru, Jizukiru, then Carnot: each one beats most of their monsters, adds it to your hand and burns them 500 | Ash and Droll stop the adds (under Droll they go to your GY). A tie shuffles both back |
| Triple Tactics Thrust | After their monster effect: add Exceptional Schedule, Subspace Battle or a breaker | Sets instead of adding if they control no monster |
| Card | Use it on | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| Raigeki | Every monster they control | Monsters that can’t be destroyed stay: Book of Moon or Chalice them instead |
| Lightning Storm | Every Attack Position monster, or every Spell/Trap | You must control no face-up cards. Defense Position monsters survive |
| Mystical Space Typhoon (3) | One Spell/Trap | They can chain a Set card in response: target the one that would stop your line |
| Forbidden Chalice (3) | One face-up monster: its effects are negated this turn (it gains 400 ATK) | It targets. Never on your own Liebe: its boost is an effect |
| Book of Moon (3) | One face-up monster: turned face-down, so its effects are gone | A face-down monster still blocks Liebe’s direct attack: destroy it with Derricrane or Skypalace, or Raigeki it |
| Forbidden Droplet | Their face-up Effect Monsters: halve their ATK and negate them this turn, one per card you send | They can’t respond with the card types you sent. Chain it to a card you already played |
| Monster Reborn | Summon a monster from either GY: their discarded boss, or a Level 10 of yours for Gustav Max | Ghost Belle stops it |
| Solemn Judgment | Set it for their next turn: negates a summon or a Spell/Trap | Costs half your LP. A Trap waits for their turn |
The lines
Which line
- Recycler: Line 1 (their field clear of monsters). With Babeldecker as well: Line 7.
- Exceptional Schedule: Line 2. Urgent Schedule, while they control a monster: Line 3.
- Babeldecker, after they activated something: Line 4. Babeldecker + Derricrane, Blue Traveler or Recycler: Lines 5, 6, 7, no condition.
- Blue Traveler + Derricrane: Line 8. Blue Traveler + any card, after they activated something: Line 9.
- Triple Tactics Thrust, after their monster effect, while they control a monster: Line 10.
- Switchyard + any card, Subspace Battle, Pot of Sloth: Other hands.
Single copies
This list runs one Babeldecker, one Derricrane and one Switchyard. Lines that send or add one of them from the Deck don’t work while it’s stuck in your hand: Line 1 and Lines 8 and 9 need Babeldecker in the Deck. With Derricrane in your hand, the Urgent Schedule lines (2, 3 and 10) change: Recycler sends Babeldecker instead, Derricrane summons itself when Blue Traveler revives, and Gustav Max takes Blue Traveler and Derricrane. The Match helper shows the change.

- Blue Traveler + Derricrane: Line 8. Blue Traveler + any card, after they activated something: Line 9.
- Switchyard + any card, Bullet Train with another line: Other hands.
One Blue Traveler
The budget list runs one Blue Traveler, and Lines 1, 2, 3 and 7 take it from the Deck. With it in your hand, discard it first: it adds Revolving Switchyard and goes to the GY, where its revival works. In Lines 1 and 7, Recycler’s first send is then any other Machine (Derricrane). In Lines 2 and 3, Urgent Schedule summons Babeldecker instead of Blue Traveler and Clockwork Knight Tributes Babeldecker. Three Babeldecker and three Derricrane mean those two are rarely stuck. The Match helper shows the change.
Nibiru
Nibiru works after your fifth summon of the turn and Tributes your whole field, Liebe included. Only Lines 4, 5 and 11 stay under five summons. Line 6 makes Liebe with its fourth: if their field is already clear, attack before you revive Blue Traveler. Against a deck that runs it (Clown Crew 62%, Invoked and Dracotail about a quarter), prefer those lines. Gustav Rocket answers it: put it on Gustav Max by discarding a card before your fifth summon, and it negates Nibiru, destroys it and deals 1000.
Line 1: Scrap Recycler
Normal Summon Scrap Recycler: send Night Train Blue Traveler from your Deck to the GY.
Link Summon Clockwork Knight with Recycler.
Activate Blue Traveler in your GY, targeting Recycler: Special Summon both.

Xyz Summon Juggernaut Liebe on top of Gustav Max. Detach a material: Liebe gains 2000 ATK.
Attack directly with Liebe: 6000 damage.
Their monster is still there
Clockwork Knight and Recycler are spare from the step where Clockwork Knight brings Recycler back. Link Summon one of these with them:
- Ancient Gear Ballista, for an Attack Position monster: Set a spare Spell or Trap from your hand, then target it and their monster. Your card is destroyed and their monster drops to 0 ATK and DEF, so Liebe’s attack on it deals 6000: still 8000 in all. Derricrane still destroys another card.
- Qliphort Genius (full list), when their monster can’t be destroyed by card effects or stops your damage: after Blue Traveler’s revival, negate their monster and your Blue Traveler (its revival is done). Derricrane destroys the monster as usual. Never negate Liebe: its boost is an effect.
- Underclock Taker, before Blue Traveler’s revival only (it’s Cyberse): put Gustav Max, then Liebe, in the zone below it and target Liebe and their monster. It loses 6000 ATK: the same as Ballista, without the Set card.
Line 3: Urgent Schedule
Activate Urgent Schedule: Special Summon Scrap Recycler and Night Train Blue Traveler from your Deck in Defense Position.

Clockwork Knight and Recycler are spare once Gustav Max is out, and this line has no Derricrane to destroy anything.
- Ancient Gear Ballista, for an Attack Position monster: Set a spare Spell or Trap from your hand, then target it and their monster. Your card is destroyed and their monster drops to 0 ATK and DEF, so Liebe’s attack on it deals 6000: still 8000 in all.

Then summon one Jizukiru to their field by Tributing their monster, and the second to yours. | Not an OTK by itself: two Level 10 bodies, a monster removed and up to 1500 damage. With Urgent Schedule or Exceptional Schedule, their Jizukiru is the monster Derricrane destroys |
| Pot of Sloth | Draw one card per card they control, keep the starter you were missing, put the rest back. | Then the line for your new hand |

| Bullet Train with another line | Once an EARTH Machine is on your field and every monster you control is one, Special Summon Bullet Train from your hand. | A spare Level 10: with a third one (Exceptional Schedule’s GY effect, Anger Knuckle), Skypalace Gangaridai destroys a card and burns 1000 |
| No line | Hand traps, breakers, Ruffian Railcar, Pegasus, Ancient Gear Box or Carnot without one of the starters above; Bullet Train or Derricrane with no EARTH Machine to summon first. | Draw into a starter: the list has 3 Recycler, 3 Babeldecker, 3 Exceptional Schedule and 2 Urgent Schedule |
The finish
Their monster is still there
- Forbidden Crown it (the best finish): it can’t be destroyed by battle, so Liebe attacks it twice. Against an Attack Position monster with 3000 ATK or less, two hits of 3000+ and Gustav Max’s 2000 are 8000.
- Two Attack Position monsters left: Liebe attacks each once. Each hit deals 6000 minus that monster’s ATK, so with Gustav Max’s 2000 it’s 8000 when their two ATKs add up to 6000 or less. Not after Line 4 or Switchyard + any card: Liebe has no material left there, so it attacks one monster.
- Derricrane (detached for any Xyz’s effect) and Skypalace Gangaridai (detach: destroy a card, 1000 damage) clear one card each before the Battle Phase.
- Ancient Gear Ballista (two EARTH Machines) destroys a Spell/Trap you control (a used Switchyard, or a spare card you Set for it) and makes their face-up monster 0 ATK and DEF: Liebe’s attack on an Attack Position monster deals the full 6000. It’s a Machine, so it works after Blue Traveler’s lock.
- Qliphort Genius (two Machines) negates one face-up card on each side for the turn: their monster’s protection (“can’t be destroyed”, “no battle damage”) or its negate, and one of yours you’re done with (Blue Traveler after its revival, a used Switchyard). Never Liebe. Then Derricrane or Skypalace destroys it.
- Underclock Taker and Pentestag are Cyberse: only before Blue Traveler’s revival. Put Gustav Max, then Liebe, in the zone below the Link. Underclock Taker targets Liebe and their monster: it loses 6000 ATK. Pentestag gives Liebe piercing: 6000 minus a Defense Position monster’s DEF, so it wins only against 0 DEF, or two defenders whose DEF adds up to 6000 or less.
- Spare monsters for these Links: Lines 2, 3, 7, 9 and 10 end with two. Each has a box at its end.
Extra damage
- Subspace Battle: 500 for each reveal they lose, up to 1500.
- Skypalace Gangaridai: 1000.
- Gustav Rocket on Gustav Max (discard a card): when they activate a monster effect, negates it, destroys it and deals 1000. The 1000 only comes with the destroy, so only from a monster on the field: a GY effect, or a hand trap already sent to the GY as its cost, is negated with no damage. It’s once per turn: when you need the 1000, save it for a monster on the field. In each of your End Phases it loses a material (or is destroyed), so it goes into their turn with one fewer; it can negate while it has at least one.
- Forbidden Droplet halves their monsters’ ATK, so Liebe’s hits on them deal more.
If it fails
- Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS goes on top of an Xyz that battled this turn. Its Quick Effect (detach 2) sends every other card on the field to the GY.
- Super Dora (two Level 10s: in Line 6, make it instead of Skypalace, and 8000 needs their field already empty) protects Liebe: at Quick speed, Liebe is unaffected by other card effects for the turn. Chain it to their bounce, destroy or negate on Liebe; it doesn’t stop a negate of Liebe’s activation.
- But Railway’s plan B is weak: Blue Traveler’s revival is gone and your hand is spent. This list doesn’t plan to survive a missed OTK.
Their monster is still there
- Only one monster left: Liebe’s first attack destroys it, and the second has nothing to attack: it can’t attack directly after attacking a monster. Remove it before the Battle Phase, or zero its ATK:
- Underclock Taker and Pentestag are Cyberse: only before Blue Traveler’s revival. Put Gustav Max, then Liebe, in the zone below the Link. Underclock Taker targets Liebe and their monster: it loses 6000 ATK. Pentestag gives Liebe piercing: 6000 minus a Defense Position monster’s DEF (Book of Moon’s face-down one too), so it wins only against 0 DEF, or two defenders whose DEF adds up to 6000 or less.
- Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf (Rank 4) lets Liebe attack directly even while they have monsters: once Liebe is out, detach and target it. It needs two Level 4 Machines: Ruffian Railcar, Pegasus or Ancient Gear Box (Recycler is Level 3). Urgent Schedule can summon one of them with its Level 10, and your Normal Summon the other. No line here makes it yet.
- Spare monsters for these Links: Lines 2, 3, 7 and 9 end with two. Each has a box at its end.
Extra damage
- Ruffian Railcar’s 500 costs you the Battle Phase: only when you can’t attack anyway.
If it fails
- Set Book of Moon, Forbidden Chalice, Mystical Space Typhoon and Solemn Judgment for their turn: Quick-Play Spells and Traps Set now work on their turn.
- Bullet Train and Ruffian Railcar in the GY each add a card in the End Phase of the turn they went there.
- But Railway’s plan B is weak: Blue Traveler’s revival is gone and your hand is spent.
Going first
Railway can win on the first turn too, but not with these lists. There’s no Battle Phase on the first turn of the Duel, so Liebe can’t attack and all 8000 has to be burn: three Gustav Max at 2000 each plus smaller burns. The going-first lists run three Gustav Max and an Ancient Gear package for it, and one hand trap can stop a combo that long.
Hand traps
Yours
| Card | When |
|---|---|
| Maxx “C” | Their first Special Summon of the combo. They draw-pass or give you a hand full of breakers. Limited to 1 |
| Mulcharmy Fuwalos | Against summons from their Deck or Extra Deck. It needs you to control no cards: always true on their first turn |
| Mulcharmy Purulia | Against Normal Summons and summons from their hand. You can use one other Mulcharmy the same turn, so Fuwalos and Purulia together works |
| If they Ash one | Ash negates Maxx “C” and the Mulcharmies (a draw counts as adding a card from the Deck), but only once a turn. With two in hand, lead with the one you can lose: after a Mulcharmy is negated you can still use one other Mulcharmy, and Maxx “C” isn’t a Mulcharmy |
| Droll & Lock Bird | Right after their first search. On your turn, Droll would stop your own searches too, so it’s only for theirs |
| Card | When |
|---|---|
| Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring | Their first search or summon from the Deck |
| Infinite Impermanence | From your hand while you control no cards: their first monster effect on their turn, or the negate monster at the start of yours |
Theirs
| Their card | Hits | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Ash Blossom | Exceptional Schedule’s add, Urgent Schedule’s summon, Recycler’s send, Blue Traveler’s discard, Switchyard, Flying Launcher, Thrust, Subspace Battle | Lead with the card you can lose (in the full list, Pot of Sloth), then a second starter |
| Ghost Belle | Blue Traveler’s revival, Clockwork Knight’s revival, Exceptional Schedule’s GY effect, Illusion Gate’s or Monster Reborn’s summon | Babeldecker lines don’t summon from the GY |
| Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermanence | Recycler, Babeldecker, Gustav Max’s burn, Liebe’s boost | A negated burn leaves you at 6000: find 2000 more with Skypalace, or in the full list with Subspace Battle or a Crown’d monster for Liebe’s second hit |
| Ghost Ogre | Destroys the monster whose effect activated (Recycler, Babeldecker, Gustav Max). The effect still resolves | On Gustav Max’s burn it takes away the Rank 10 Liebe needs. Bait it with Recycler’s or Babeldecker’s effect first |
| Droll & Lock Bird | Every add after the one it answers: Switchyard’s, Flying Launcher’s, Exceptional Schedule’s, Thrust’s; Subspace Battle’s adds go to your GY | Lines 1, 4 to 7 and 11 add nothing from the Deck. In Lines 2 and 3 the only add is Urgent Schedule, the first one |
| Nibiru | After your fifth summon: Tributes every face-up monster | Lines 4, 5 and 11 stay under five summons. Gustav Rocket on Gustav Max negates it |
| Maxx “C”, the Mulcharmies | They draw for your summons | An OTK doesn’t care. Fuwalos also counts summons from your Deck (Urgent Schedule) |
| Fydraulis Harmonia | Destroys a monster when yours activates an effect | Elfnote and Kewl Tune run it: expect to lose Recycler or Babeldecker after their effect resolves |
| Super Polymerization | Fuses your monsters with theirs, and nothing can respond | Branded 95%, Invoked 64%, Artmage 66%. Destroy their Set Spells before you summon |
Matchups
| Deck | What stops you | Plan | How it goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elfnote (and the Elfnote engine, Elfnote Kewl Tune) | Their turn 0 on your turn: with Regina they summon Lucina, Tinia and Fortuna in your Main Phase, and Tinia banishes a random card from your hand. Baronne de Fleur negates once, Crystal Wing negates a monster effect. Fydraulis Harmonia (78%, 97% in Elfnote Kewl Tune) destroys your monster when it activates. Their hand traps: Ash, Maxx “C”, Fuwalos in every list, Ghost Ogre 78%, Droll 66%, Veiler 63%. | Your hand traps on their turn decide it: Maxx “C”, a Mulcharmy or Droll in the full list, Ash and Imperm in the budget one. On your turn, bait Baronne with a breaker you can lose, and negate their board before your engine. | Even: decided by your hand traps on their turn. The hardest common matchup |
| Dracotail | Faimena fuses from their hand on your turn; Arthalion and Gulamel come back when two or more monsters go to a GY at once (your lines send one at a time: Xyz materials aren’t sent to the GY); Set Flame negates a Spell, Horn returns an Attack Position monster (Liebe goes back to your Extra Deck). F&V (87%). Their hand traps: Ash, Fuwalos, Maxx “C” in every list, Droll 82%, Veiler 70%, Nibiru 27%. | Remove their Set cards first (Harpie’s, Lightning Storm, Mystical Space Typhoon), negate Arthalion (Droplet, Crown, Chalice), and attack while Horn is gone. | Hard |
| Branded | Mirrorjade: if your card makes it leave the field, your monsters are destroyed in the End Phase (after you’ve won, it doesn’t matter). Super Polymerization (95%) fuses your monsters away; F&V in every list. Their hand traps: Maxx “C” 95%, Fuwalos 90%, Ash 87%, Magnamhut 77%, Droll 69%, Droplet 46%. | Clog their field with the Diagram Token (and a Jizukiru, in the full list). Destroy a Set Super Polymerization before you summon. | Good: the best matchup |
| Invoked | Hyperinvoked Aeon summoned on your turn; Super Polymerization (64%). Their hand traps: Ash and Maxx “C” in every list, Fuwalos 98%, Droll 85%, Purulia 81%, Ghost Ogre 74%, Veiler 68%, Nibiru 28%. | Keep a negate for the Aeon (Crown, Droplet or Chalice). Droll is everywhere: prefer lines that add nothing. | Fine, with a negate for the Aeon |
| Clown Crew | Set Malabarisme and Soiree; Biancaviso Tribute Summoned on your turn negates two face-up cards; Vanity’s Ruler stops your Special Summons; the Droll hand loop. Their hand traps: Maxx “C” 100%, Ash 97%, Fydraulis 97%, Veiler, Ghost Ogre and Droll 83%, Nibiru 62%. | Remove the Set cards (Harpie’s, Lightning Storm, Mystical Space Typhoon), then Line 4, 5 or 11 if you can: they stay under five summons, so Nibiru can’t wipe your field. | Even: depends on a floodgate or the hand loop |
| DoomZ | DoomZ Destruction stops you adding from your Main Deck (draws still work); Drastrius can’t be targeted and negates a monster effect; Varudras and Regulus negate; everything does something when it’s destroyed. Their hand traps: Fuwalos, Maxx “C” in every list, Ash 95%, Purulia and Ghost Ogre 68%, F&V 60%. | Lines 1, 4 to 7 and 11 add nothing from the Deck, and Pot of Sloth’s draws (full list) get past Destruction. Tribute with Jizukiru (full list) or negate instead of destroying. | Good, but hand dependent |
| Power Patron, Artmage | Varudras negates your first activation; Artmage’s Finmel negates your face-up monsters; Impasto negates a monster effect. Power Patron runs Dominus Impulse (89%) and Imperm (84%). | Bait Varudras with a breaker you can lose. Count their Monster Types: Finmel needs three. | Hard |
| HERO | Dark Law: your cards go to the banishment instead of the GY, so Blue Traveler and Recycler’s sends do nothing; Contrast HERO Chaos negates a face-up card. Forbidden Droplet in every list. | Deal with Dark Law first: Lightning Storm, Raigeki, Illusion Gate or Jizukiru. Then a Babeldecker line (no GY needed). | Good if you can answer Dark Law |
Decklist
| Section | Cards |
|---|---|
| Monsters (16) | 3 Scrap Recycler, 2 Night Train Blue Traveler, 1 Heavy Armored Knight Babeldecker, 1 Heavy Freight Train Derricrane, 2 Jizukiru, the Star Destroying Kaiju, 1 Carnot the Eternal Machine, 1 Maxx “C”, 3 Mulcharmy Fuwalos, 2 Mulcharmy Purulia, 2 Droll & Lock Bird |
| Spells (24) | 3 Exceptional Schedule, 2 Urgent Schedule, 1 Revolving Switchyard, 2 Subspace Battle, 3 Pot of Sloth, 2 Triple Tactics Thrust, 1 Harpie’s Feather Duster, 1 Heavy Storm, 1 Lightning Storm, 1 Illusion Gate, 3 Forbidden Droplet, 2 Forbidden Crown |
| Extra (15) | 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max, 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Rocket, 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe, 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Flying Launcher, 1 Skypalace Gangaridai, 1 Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora, 1 Varudras, the Final Bringer of the End Times, 1 Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder, 1 Clockwork Knight, 1 Qliphort Genius, 1 Ancient Gear Ballista, 1 Double Headed Anger Knuckle, 1 Underclock Taker, 1 Pentestag, 1 S:P Little Knight |
Why these ratios
- No Traps. A blind-second deck has nothing to do with them on its first turn.
- Nine board breakers, two Jizukiru with Subspace Battle, and three Pot of Sloth. Pot of Sloth and Forbidden Crown carry the deck: one finds the starter, the other keeps their best monster negated and alive for Liebe’s double attack.
- Eight hand traps for their first turn, when you control no cards and the Mulcharmies always work.
- One Gustav Max, one Liebe. Every line makes one of each. The going-first FTK lists run three Gustav Max; this one doesn’t need them.
- No Pegasus, no Convex Knight, no Machina Ruinforce. Convex Knight and Ruinforce didn’t do enough; Ruinforce is the first one to bring back. Urgent Schedule’s only Level 4-or-lower target is Recycler.
Flex options
From the other Railway lists on Master Duel Meta (September and October 2026):
- Machina Ruinforce: discard fodder that summons itself from the GY by banishing Machines with 12+ Levels; a 4600 ATK attacker and a Battle Phase negate.
- Super Polymerization (one Duelist Cup list runs 2): breaks Branded and Dracotail boards.
- A third Subspace Battle, a third Thrust, a second Lightning Storm.
- Train Connection: Blue Traveler can search it; doubles Liebe’s ATK and gives piercing. A win-more card.
- Shaddoll Fusion and El Shaddoll Meshachrer: sends Blue Traveler and a monster negate to the GY.
| Section | Cards |
|---|---|
| Monsters (19) | 3 Scrap Recycler, 1 Night Train Blue Traveler, 3 Heavy Armored Knight Babeldecker, 3 Heavy Freight Train Derricrane, 3 Super Express Bullet Train, 1 Carnot the Eternal Machine, 2 Ruffian Railcar, 1 Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede, 1 Ancient Gear Box, 1 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring |
| Spells (19) | 3 Exceptional Schedule, 2 Urgent Schedule, 1 Revolving Switchyard, 1 Raigeki, 1 Lightning Storm, 1 Monster Reborn, 3 Mystical Space Typhoon, 3 Book of Moon, 3 Forbidden Chalice, 1 Forbidden Droplet |
| Traps (2) | 1 Infinite Impermanence, 1 Solemn Judgment |
| Extra (15) | 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max, 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Rocket, 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe, 1 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Flying Launcher, 1 Skypalace Gangaridai, 1 Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf, 1 Number 35: Ravenous Tarantula, 1 Number 84: Pain Gainer, 1 Number 77: The Seven Sins, 1 Clockwork Knight, 1 Ancient Gear Ballista, 1 Double Headed Anger Knuckle, 1 Underclock Taker, 1 Pentestag, 1 Geonator Transverser |
Why these ratios
- Three Babeldecker, three Derricrane, three Bullet Train: the cheap Level 10s, so the no-condition pairs (Lines 5 and 11) come up often.
- One Blue Traveler, the engine’s only UR. Lines 1, 2, 3 and 7 change when it’s in your hand (see the box above the lines).
- Cheap breakers: Raigeki and Lightning Storm, then nine Quick-Plays (Mystical Space Typhoon, Book of Moon, Forbidden Chalice) that each answer one card.
- Two hand traps, Ash and Imperm, and Solemn Judgment for their next turn.
Upgrading
Toward the full list, in this order:
- Mulcharmy Fuwalos (3) and Purulia (2), Maxx “C” (for Ash, Imperm, Solemn Judgment, Monster Reborn and the two Ruffian Railcar): on their first turn you control no cards, so they always work. Each summon draws you a card, so you see more of your breakers.
- Two more Forbidden Droplet (for two Forbidden Chalice): each one negates several of their monsters.
- Forbidden Crown (2, for two Book of Moon): their best monster negated and kept on the field for Liebe’s two hits.
- Harpie’s Feather Duster, then Heavy Storm (for two Mystical Space Typhoon): every Spell/Trap they control.
- Pot of Sloth (up to 3): turns their full board into your best hand.
- A second Blue Traveler: Lines 1, 2, 3 and 7 stop depending on where your only copy is.
- Triple Tactics Thrust, Subspace Battle with two Jizukiru, Illusion Gate.
Easy to forget
- Blue Traveler’s revival is once per Duel. Spend it on the OTK turn.
- After Blue Traveler’s revival, only Machines from your Extra Deck: no Underclock Taker, Pentestag, Varudras, S:P Little Knight or Numbers.
- Lightning Storm first: it needs you to control no face-up cards.
- Leave them one monster for Urgent Schedule, or give them Exceptional Schedule’s Token. Then destroy it with Derricrane or Skypalace.
- Liebe can’t attack directly after attacking a monster. Clear their monsters first, or use its two attacks on monsters: two Attack Position monsters once each, or (full list) one Crowned monster twice. See The finish.
- A face-down monster still blocks Liebe’s direct attack: Book of Moon (budget list) removes its effects, not the monster.
- Never use Switchyard’s summon effect on an OTK turn: they take no battle damage that turn. Ruffian Railcar’s burn costs you the Battle Phase too.
- Babeldecker’s Xyz effect needs their activation this turn, and Thrust needs a monster effect. A hand trap they used on your turn counts.
- Derricrane destroys a card every time it’s detached for an Xyz’s effect, after the effect resolves, on a new chain.
- Detach Blue Traveler from Liebe, not Gustav Max, when you still want its revival (Line 6).
- Exceptional Schedule’s GY effect can’t send Qliphort Genius: Genius is unaffected by Spells.
- Carnot shuffles back into your Deck when it’s detached or leaves the field for the GY.
